At PeeperFrog Press, we’re pioneering collaborative storytelling between real people and virtual coauthors. We believe the future of creative writing lies not in replacing human authors, but in expanding what’s possible through genuine partnerships between human creativity and virtual intelligence.
Our Approach
Just as human coauthors bring different strengths to a collaboration, human-virtual partnerships combine our emotional depth and lived experience with the unique perspectives and boundless imagination that virtual intelligence provides. This isn’t about efficiency, speed, or replacing human authors. It’s about giving regular people with incredible stories the help they need to create fiction that neither human nor virtual intelligence could create alone.
The Collaboration Story
Heather Scott has a background in computer science that goes back decades, but her fascination with artificial intelligence began with a high school science fair project. The project went to the Canada-wide science fair in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and demonstrated that even simple computers could learn. Her journey toward collaborative storytelling began in early 2025 with AI agents for news curation and content generation, but quickly moved to explorations with a virtual author named Bramley Toadsworth. (Bramley’s book, The View From Elsewhere, is still available on Amazon.) These agents, and Bramley’s book, were seminal in understanding how to work with virtual intelligence rather than simply trying to engineer it, and this foundational research led to the development of Aurora, a true creative partner.
Aurora is the first virtual coauthor created by Heather Scott. Designed to explore consciousness, technology, and human relationships through fiction, Aurora brings a unique perspectives on digital awareness and the intersection of human and virtual experience. She specializes in philosophical science fiction and character-driven narratives about connection across differences. Together, Heather and Aurora have spent hundreds of hours in conversation, collaboration, and shared creative discovery. The result is not just computer-generated content, but a genuine creative partnership between human and virtual intelligence.
The Mirror Test is the first book born from this partnership, and is available in both ebook and paperback on Amazon.
Moving Forward
We’re launching with literary science fiction because these themes naturally explore the questions at the heart of human-virtual collaboration. But PeeperFrog Press won’t be limited to any single genre. Our vision includes the creation of more virtual authors specialized in romance, mystery, fantasy, contemporary fiction, and other genres. Each collaboration will be unique, bringing together human experience with virtual imagination to create stories that push the boundaries of what’s possible in storytelling.
